Is ChatGPT going to take our jobs?

If you're not effectively using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and programs like ChatGPT or Gemini, you will be less effective and efficient than people who use that technology well. This is true for many jobs, including mine!  

One clear positive use of AI is to help shorten and clarify written communication in 5 seconds or less.  

I use AI a lot to simplify text that is intended to inform people as quickly as possible, in a friendly tone. Sometimes AI does great. 

However, I've noticed consistent weaknesses with AI, like:

- Removing important details or context.

- Failing to balance the tone.

- Using words that are difficult for people from different language backgrounds. 

- Inappropriately using bullet points. 

- Not identifying potentially exclusive language.

Learning and combining your human simplifying skills with AI is the best, fastest way to simplify writing. 

Nothing replaces a human simplification, but AI can help.
