Meal-snack-bite

How long do people spend reading a newsletter or email?

Some want all the info and will spend 2-3 minutes.

Most want only the essential info and spend 5-15 seconds!

Use the meal-snack-bite model to inform everyone at the level they want.

Here’s an example:

  • Your meal is your full 10-page strategic plan.

  • The snack is a one-page summary of the plan.

  • The bite is 3 short sentences summarizing the main goals of the plan.

Start your newsletter with 1-3 brief things you want everyone to know in 10 seconds. Then provide links or more for those who want a snack or meal.

In my trainings you'll have opportunities to practice using this tool with your communication.
